Pharmaceutical Engineering Manager – FILLED

The Wellington Group has been engaged to find an experienced Pharmaceutical Engineering Managerr with hands-on leadership experience in a GMP environment for Sterile or Solid Dose pharmaceuticals or combination therapy products. The Pharmaceutical Engineering Manager will be responsible for the effective management of all day-to-day engineering activities of the engineering group in support of overall plant and product production needs (process, validation, commissioning, capital equipment, new plant construction, WFI, Sterile Suites, KPIs, etc). 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing to budgets and priorities and translating the strategic plan into goals and objectives for the department
  • Oversee the investigation process and quality problems and implement corrective actions
  • Able to lead and mentor in the development and management of project plans and timelines
  • Manage capital and process improvement projects
  • Oversee and manage major construction and plant or production expansions
  • Track, manage and communicate project goals and overall KPIs to senior leadership, peers and staff
  • Maintaining a current knowledge of industry standards and trends
  • Monthly reporting on various projects status and commentary on all respective organizational initiatives
  •  Follow company policies and procedures and maintain compliance with applicable GMP and FDA standards

The qualified Pharmaceutical Engineering Manager candidate will have:

  •  Bachelor degree in Engineering or Professional Engineer designation
  •  7 to 15+ years hands on experience in a sterile or pharmaceutical environment is required, will consider other FDA – GMP experience and medical device or combination product production
  •  A proven leader and motivator with exceptionally strong communication skills
  • Can-do attitude and work ethic to take full ownership and proactive measures of running the Engineering Department
  • Ability to be hands on, while always thinking strategically
  • A consistent track record of results achievement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, AutoCAD experience and other computer aided design software and able to read blueprints and schematics
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
