We are seeking an Industrial Outside Sales Rep who will maximize sales in an assigned territory through direct selling and servicing of identified new and existing customers within targeted markets. You will identify opportunities to gain new customers while expanding existing business to achieve planned sales volume and company goals. Position is based in the North Carolina, local candidates are preferred. Work from home may be available for the right situation, will be required to come into the main office 1-2 days per week.
Industrial Outside Sales Rep Duties:
- Make cold calls, follow up on leads, plan customer visits and set appointments
- Responsible for profitable revenue growth through new targeted customer growth, further penetration of existing customers, and customer retention
- Establishes, maintains and services accounts, covering full assigned territory
- Ensures high customer satisfaction, positive long-term relationships and repeat business
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages and benefits
- Perform all aspects of selling to maintain and develop new or existing customers including: product selection and specification, proposal development, customer presentations, closing orders, preparation of submittals and resolving customer problems
- Sales forecasting for assigned territory
- Generate leads using all available sources
The qualified Industrial Outside Sales Rep will have:
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in engineering, will consider experience and knowledge as a key qualifier for this role
- A minimum of 4 years experience selling industrial products
- Experience selling both new and refurbished equipment is ideal
- Ability to read blue prints and provide a solutions sales experience
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and Voltage/Wattage/Amperage calculations
- 60% travel throughout assigned territory, mainly day tips to through the area and to new and existing clients
- Able to generate leads through past connections, trade journals and publications, industrial SIC codes, trade shows and other resources
- Able to show a track record of successfully increasing sales of industrial equipment
- Attend and participate in trade shows
- A valid Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
